An estimated 48.5 million people aged 12 or older in the United States had a substance use disorder in a recent twelve-month period; just 15.6 percent received any treatment (SAMHSA NSDUH). The Stepwell Center treats the six substance use conditions most common in the Lake Travis area, delivered across four outpatient levels of care: PHP, IOP, Evening IOP, and Outpatient.
Addiction is a treatable chronic condition. Like diabetes or heart disease, it responds best to care that is matched to the individual rather than slotted into a curriculum (NIDA). Stepwell's response is the Prescribed Care Model. Every plan begins with a 2 to 3 day comprehensive assessment that integrates clinical interview, qEEG brain mapping, pharmacogenetic testing, and standardized psychological testing. The output is a written plan matched to your clinical profile.
From there, your care moves along the standard outpatient continuum (ASAM Criteria). PHP is the most structured, then IOP, then Evening IOP for working adults, then Outpatient for maintenance and step-down. Roughly 21.2 million US adults experience both a substance use condition and a mental illness in the same year (SAMHSA), so integrated dual-diagnosis care is built into every plan rather than referred out. All four levels are delivered at our Lakeway, Texas facility, just off Ranch Road 620 in the Lake Travis corridor.
